Hi Larry:
 This may be old news to ya. My modem went down was off line for a
 while. But any way on your ? In the American Survival Guide, Oct 1994
 has a real good article on this subject. It is in the ask as area. They
 say that Thermal imagers you should go at least 6' to 8' of foliage.
 Infra red, runs on ultra violet light. Plant life shows up differnt
 than human.

 If you have a I.R. and use it and someone else has night
 vision they will pick you out as if you are useing a flashlight. In
 that case don't use it or if you can use a laser luminator it can still
 be spotted but is a lot harder to pick up.

 On the use of metalic space blankets.. if how ever is looking for you
 has a MTI. moving target indicators you are had to. unless you take
 appropriate defense.     Read the A.S.G. it is a good article.
